Today the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is lifting its burn ban on open burning for the Tulalip, Stillaguamish, Sauk-Suiattle and Puyallup Indian Reservations in Snohomish and Pierce Counties due to improved air quality, effective at 8:00 a.m., January 11, 2016.

A burn ban remains in effect for the Yakama Nation Reservation due to stagnant air conditions forecasted to continue in eastern Washington.

EPA thanks reservation residents for their cooperation in protecting and maintaining good air quality.
