9AM and 2 PM: EPA Administrator to Testify before House Subcommittees on FY 2017 Budget

WASHINGTON - U.S. EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy and Acting Chief Financial Officer David Bloom will testify on the FY 2017 Budget today at 9 AM before the Interior, Environment and Related Agencies Subcommittee of the House Appropriations Committee. Administrator McCarthy will also testify at 2 PM before the Energy and Power Subcommittee of the House Energy and Commerce Committee. EPA's proposed budget provides resources to ensure the agency can make the investments needed to meet its mission to protect public health and the environment. The proposed budget ensures EPA will continue to work to improve air quality, improve drinking water infrastructure, execute rigorous scientific research and ensure public safety from toxic chemicals. It also ensures the Agency will work to confront the impact of Climate Change while delivering on the President's Clean Power Plan.
