2:00 PM EST: EPA to Hold 2014 Toxics Release Inventory (TRI) National Analysis Press Call
WASHINGTON - Today at 2:00 p.m. EDT, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will hold a press call and webinar to discuss the 2014 Toxics Release Inventory National Analysis. TRI data are submitted annually to EPA, states, and tribes by facilities in industry sectors such as manufacturing, metal mining, electric utilities, and commercial hazardous waste. Under the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA), facilities must report their toxic chemical releases for the prior year to EPA by July 1 of each year. Most of these releases are subject to a variety of regulatory requirements designed to limit human and environmental harm. The TRI National Analysis is an annual report that displays EPA's analysis and interpretation of the most recent TRI data.
