      Abstract:
        This map is an ARC/INFO coverage of all 8-Digit Hydrologic Catalog Units (HUCS) in the 
	mid-Atlantic region (SFR 3).  The hucs have been clipped to the boundary of the region.

      Purpose:
        These data were created as part of a regional assessment of landscape conditions
         in the mid-Atlantic region (SFR 3) (Jones et al., 1997).

Process_Step:
        Process_Description:  
	Using the standard USGS HUCS for Region III, we clipped the huc boundaries to match the boundary of the region.  This was to insure that our analyses were using land area within the hucs that also fell within the region.  In addition, we edited the boundaries of those hucs around the Chesapeake Bay to match the shoreline existant in our landcover data.  This insured that all landcover within every huc was accounted for.
