Initial Investigative Work

The initial phase of the investigative work included collecting some basic hydrogeologic information as well as complete delineation of the "source area". The source area is defined by two components

Push-probe equipment was used to advance a network of soil borings and small diameter (1") monitoring wells to complete the source area delineation. As shown, both the NAPL plume and the residual soil contamination extend approximately the same longitudinal distance (south)from the source: 160 feet. The width (east-west)of the impacted soil is much greater than the NAPL plume width, however, due to the NAPL lens flattening in this direction.
