Why is ePTFE gaining popularity
for filtration?
Every utility that’s been faced with changing out filter bags in the last three years has considered membrane as an option for the reasons stated above.  Approximately half of the utility filter bag purchases in the last three years have actually been membrane.

The installation of scrubbing technologies such as SCR or SNCR have been a major contributing factor for the purchase of BHA-Tex filter bags because of the formation of ABS (Ammonium Bi-Sulphite) created by the ammonia slip.

BHA-Tex also holds up and recovers much better following a boiler tube leak.  The pore structure of the membrane does not allow water to pass through it and the non-stick nature of membrane makes it much easier to shed the agglomerated dust cake that can build up on the collection surface of filter bags.
