Steven Acree
Mr. Acree is a hydrologist in GWERD’s Applied Research and Technical Support Branch. He has a B.S. Chemistry from the University of Arkansas, Little Rock, and an M.S. in Geology from the University of South Carolina.
For more than twenty years, Mr. Acree has provided both site-specific technical support and technology transfer assistance to EPA regional and headquarters offices in the areas of groundwater flow, contaminant transport/fate processes, and subsurface remediation.
Mr. Acree’s research area is permeable reactive barriers. Recently, he has been involved in evaluations of the hydraulic performance of permeable reactive barriers in different hydrogeologic settings. His interests include innovative techniques for characterization of subsurface hydrology and the effects of heterogeneity on subsurface processes and remedial design.
