Will Tour Stella Academy and Meet with Students to Discuss Environmental Curriculum and Other Issues

LOS ANGELES -- On Tuesday, March 22nd, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lisa P. Jackson will be joined by Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and U.S. Representative Karen Bass to visit Stella Middle Charter Academy in the West Adams area of Los Angeles to discuss with teachers and students the school’s adoption of an environmental curriculum, its commitment to children’s health and other educational achievements.

Stella Middle Charter Academy, which is part of the Bright Star Schools charter organization, predominantly serves minority and low-Income students.  Since it was founded in 2002, Stella Academy has consistently ranked near or at the top of LA’s public schools in its performance.
