EPA Goal 1: Climate Change and Improving Air Quality |
Purpose
The AAQTF has been created in accordance with the Federal Agriculture Improvement
and Reform (FAIR) Act of 1996, which directs the Chief of the Natural Resources
Conservation Service (NRCS), an agency of the USDA, to establish a task force
to address agricultural air quality issues. The AAQTF was established to comply
with Congress and consists of leaders in farming, industry, health, and
science. The AAQTF will advise the Secretary of Agriculture regarding
the scientific basis of the impact of agriculture on air quality.

Climate Protection Program:
This program includes voluntary domestic and international programs that address greenhouse gases (GHG) and climate change
issues. Efforts are aimed at reducing emissions of greenhouse gases and mitigating the effects of global climate change on
the environment and human health while growing the economy. In addition, this program provides technical assistance and
online reporting tools for regulated facilities to report annual greenhouse gas emissions in support of the Greenhouse
Gas Reporting Program.
