Purpose
Protecting the total force from the health threats posed by hazardous and medical
materials and waste; minimizing the risk of adverse affects from improper waste
management; while promoting sustainability for the Army in the 21st century.
The USAPHC has specialists to evaluate hazardous materials, waste, and regulated medical waste management problems,
conduct pollution prevention opportunity assessments, evaluate new environmental control technologies, and
provide guidance on chemical stockpile emergency preparedness and planning. They offer practical and
cost-effective solutions to better protect the public health and the environment, as well as comply
